It was a controversial arrangement of butter mass in his studio. After Beuys death, the "Fettecke" was eliminated in 1986 by the caretaker. A scandal that made this one of the most prominent works of the artist. Since then, the telling circulated on everyone's lips, whether secretly murmuring or as a direct reaction in the face of the ambiguity of a questionable chunk of art: "Ist das Kunst oder kann das weg" ("Is this art or can I tidy up"). With the well-known sentence on the nude bod "Ist das Kunst oder kann das weg" Milo Moiré visits the „Rundgang“ (trip) of the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in 2019. In the so-called hallowed halls, the college girls introduce their work to the general public for 4 days. With the spectacle Milo Moiré embodies with self-irony the fundamental misunderstanding of the artist. Not answers but questions sharpen the fresh sight, so the artist. It honors all works of art that were not recognized as such, mocked, disapproved or even wrecked. Die Spectacle ist inspiriert von der Kunstinstallation "Fettecke" (1983) von Joseph Beuys im Raum trio der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Es handelte sich dabei um eine damals kontrovers diskutierte Anordnung aus Buttermasse in seinem Atelier. Nach Beuys Tod wurde die "Fettecke" im Jahre 1986 vom damaligen Hausmeister entfernt. Ein Skandal, der dieses Werk zu einer der bekanntesten Arbeiten des Künstlers machte. Seitdem kursiert der Spruch in aller Munde, ob heimlich flüsternd oder als direkte Entgegnung in Anbetracht der Ambiguität eines fragwürdigen Kunstwerkes: "Ist das Kunst oder kann das weg". Mit dem berüchtigten Satz auf dem nackten Körper "Ist das Kunst oder kann das weg" besucht Milo Moiré den Rundgang 2019 der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. In den so genannten heiligen Hallen präsentieren die Studenten während vier Tagen ihre Arbeiten der breiten Öffentlichkeit. Mit der Spectacle verkörpert Milo Moiré mit Selbstironie das grundlegende Missverständnis des Künstlers. Nicht Antworten sondern Fragen schärfen die Neubetrachtung, so die Künstlerin. (2015) Anlässlich der Ausstellung „Das nackte Leben“ im LWL-Museum in Münster hinterfragt die Performancekünstlerin Milo Moiré die Grundhaltung zu abstrakter und figurativer Kunst. Ist ein Gemälde mit naturalistischem Inhalt nicht selbst eine Abstraktion? Was könnte das absolute Motiv einer Ausstellung, die sich dem nackten Leben widmet und nach konkreter Sinneserfahrung appelliert, sein? Milo Moiré holt in Einklang mit der Haltung der ausgestellten Künstler das Alltägliche in die Kunst, doch entfernt sie sich von der abstrakten Darstellungsform noch einen Schritt weiter und zeigt ihr Hauptmotiv nackten Lebens: Ein nackter Säugling geborgen im Hand einer nackten Frau. Diese unmittelbare Erfahrung des lebendigen Aktes fordert dazu auf, gewohnte Wahrnehmungsformen zu reflektieren. Wie nah darf die Darstellungsform in der Kunst sich am Alltäglichen bewegen? Milo Moiré's Spectacle hinterlässt die Frage im musealem Raum: „Wie wenig Abstraktion verträgt die Kunst?" THE NUDE LIFE - “How lil' abstraction can art tolerate?” (2015) Milo Moiré, naked, with a naked baby during the closing (2015/02/22) of "The nude life" in the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster (Germany) to feast the exhibition "The nude life". Milo and the baby looked at the nudes in the exhibition and, because of their own nudity, became a part of it.  In festivity of the exhibition "The bare life" in the LWL Museum of Art and Culture, the spectacle artist Milo Moiré summons the fundamental attitudes toward abstract and figurative art. Isn't a painting depicting congenital themes itself an abstraction? What could be the absolute motif of an exhibition devoted to the nude life, an exhibition which appeals to specific sensory practices? In keeping with the treatment of the artists exhibited, Milo Moiré brings everyday life to art. And yet, she heads one step farther in eliminating herself from the abstract shape of representation and flashes her main motif of the nude life: A nude infant safe in the forearms of a nude female. This direct confrontation with live bare art summons others to reflect on accustomed kinks of perception. How close may a shape of representation in art treatment real life?
