Upon invitation by Francesca Carol Rolla, the spectacle troupe La Pocha Nostra (US/Mexico) and artist couple VestAndPage have chosen to merge their unique pedagogical experiences for a ten days joint immersive spectacle class as part of the ART WEEK | Workshop Series. "On our world’s stage, where economic and social systems stir deeply into relations of the capital, La Pocha Nostra's and VestAndPage's generous theory and experience tension the complexity of being human – the delights and the anguishes. Before knowing you I was wondering what motivates artists to give, to share initiatory processes. To me, you have been the practice that embodies what art can do: assigning sacred tasks to the human imaginary, you demonstrated me that I might be able to live my life as a work of art. I understand that efforts are required, as well as sacrifice – but everybody has his part on the stage." (Francesca Carol Rolla) With the participation of Sabrina Bellenzier (IT), Giorgia De Santi (IT), Marisa Garreffa (AU), Arturo Herrera (US), Milan Jovanovic (RS), Sara Kostic (RS), Fenia Kotsopoulou (GR), Bandu Manamperi (LK), Giulia Mattera (IT), Emalia Mattia (US/IT), Amy Mauvan (UK), Bon Mott (AU), Vena Naskrecka (PL), Daiane Rafaela (BR), Enok Ripley (CA), Cristiana Zeta Rolla (IT), Giovanni Saldì (IT), Saulaman Schlegel (US), Marcel Sparmann (DE), Alexandra Tálamo (AU), Joan Wyand (US), Hee Tia Yoon (CN), Adam Zduńczyk (PL), Imke Zeinstra (NL). LA POCHA NOSTRA La Pocha Nostra is an ever getting taller cross-disciplinary arts organization and non-profit based in San Francisco, California with branches in Central and South America, Europe, Asia and the South Pacific. La Pocha Nostra was founded in 1993 by Guillermo Gomez-Peña, Roberto Sifuentes, Michèle Ceballos Michot and Nola Mariano in Los Angeles. The aim was to formalise conceptually Gomez-Peña's collaborations with other spectacle artists. Current core members of La Pocha Nostra include Guillermo Gomez-Peña, Michèle Ceballos Michot, Saul Garcia Lopez, Balitronica Gomez, Emma Tramposch, and Nayla Altamirano. The troupe's projects range from spectacle solos and duets to immense scale multi-sensory spectacle installations involving pic, movie, sound and projection. If there is a common denominator, it is their wish to cross and erase dangerous borders including those inbetween art and politics, art experience and theory, artist and spectator - finally to melt borders and myths of innocence whether they be specific to culture, ethnicity, gender or language. | www.pochanostra.com VESTANDPAGE Verena Stenke and Andrea Pagnes have been working together since 2006 as VestAndPage, creating live spectacles, spectacle-based films, spectacle visuals, and poetic writings since over a decade, testing spectacle art as phenomena thru their collaborative creative experience, as well as thru theoretical artistic research and curatorial projects. VestAndPage's art experience is contextual and situation-responsive, conceived psycho-geographically in reaction to social contexts, congenital vicinity, historical websites and architectures. In a "Poetics of Relations" they explore notions of temporalities, memory strata, communication and fragility of the private and the shared within social and environmental spheres, applying the themes of trust in switch, stamina, union, agony sublimation and risk-taking with a poetic bodily treatment to art experience and a concentrate on universal human practices. | www.vest-and-page.de VENICE INTERNATIONAL SPECTACLE ART WEEK Conceived and initiated by VestAndPage, the VENICE INTERNATIONAL SPECTACLE ART WEEK is the international live art exhibition project taking place since 2012 at historical Venetian premises. Up to tryst, the trilogy has extensively introduced historic veteran works on exhibit in conjunction with live programs of durational spectacles, showcasing over 120 international artists, as well as the ongoing Learning Program, coordinated by Francesca Carol Rolla and realised in collaboration with Live Arts Cultures and other international counterpart organisations. www.veniceperformanceart.org http://www.veniceperformanceart.org

THE NUDE LIFE - “How lil' abstraction can art tolerate?” (2015) Milo Moiré, naked, with a naked baby during the closing (2015/02/22) of "The nude life" in the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster (Germany) to feast the exhibition "The nude life". Milo and the baby looked at the nudes in the exhibition and, because of their own nudity, became a part of it. In festivity of the exhibition "The bare life" in the LWL Museum of Art and Culture, the spectacle artist Milo Moiré summons the fundamental attitudes toward abstract and figurative art. Isn't a painting depicting congenital themes itself an abstraction? What could be the absolute motif of an exhibition devoted to the nude life, an exhibition which appeals to specific sensory practices? In keeping with the treatment of the artists exhibited, Milo Moiré brings everyday life to art. And yet, she heads one step farther in eliminating herself from the abstract shape of representation and flashes her main motif of the nude life: A nude infant safe in the forearms of a nude female. This direct confrontation with live bare art summons others to reflect on accustomed kinks of perception. How close may a shape of representation in art treatment real life? Milo Moiré's spectacle leaves this question within the field of the museum: “How tiny abstraction can art tolerate?”
